Playing politics with our safety has this piece, commenting on a story in Time this week about the dynamics of the upcoming election. Please take particular note of the paragraph they mark out. In the interests of making things easy for you readers, I'll reproduce it here:

"Administration sources tell TIME that employees at the Department of Homeland Security have been asked to keep their eyes open for opportunities to pose the President in settings that might highlight the Administration's efforts to make the nation safer. The goal, they are being told, is to provide Bush with one homeland-security photo-op a month."

So the next time you see it on the news where W is showing us how much safer we are, remember there's a fairly decent chance that dog won't hunt.
