Um...ok...what the hell?
The New Orleans Hornets fired Tim Floyd today:
"We thanked Tim for his hard work, but we are in a bottom-line business," owner George Shinn said at a news conference. "We hired a coach that we thought could help us make a run to the next level, and we weren't successful."
You fire Paul Silas, a coach who had been very successful with the team for the last few years. He got you to 47-35 a year ago in an admittedly watered down Eastern Conference. But you made the playoffs consistently. And you let him go to find someone to "get you to the next level." So you hire someone who had one of the worst all time winning percentages (95-235, a whopping .257). And you're surprised when the team declines a bit?
Based on that logic, who the hell in their right mind would want this job?
